bits... bytes... bites...

Well... I seem to miss... feel nostalgic and sentimental when it comes to maps and plans... I love to draw and draft sthe old fashion way... feel the power and magic of those drafting pens... and the pleasures of working on a wide drafting table. Slumping over and concentrating on not making any mistakes... miss that...

These days, computers are slowly taking over that role... with CAD and GIS... but somehow the feeling and emotion is not the same... the satisfaction is not the same... computers and plotters tend to make these maps and plans cold and robotic... somehow I wish they can improve on that... the colours... texture... the handling... and the human factor...

Yes my friend,... this is one storm that was the beginning of this artist down fall, painted in the same year as his wife Saskia's death. Little did Rembrandt know, but he thought he could make people see what he could and what he had painted. Unfortunately that was not the case. I also am aware,... what I see myself is exactly what he had painted, but also know that most everyone will not see it,... even after telling you how to look at it. It has been written about in many books about this artist,... yet not one can see what is said. Here goes one more time. Look for the singer of songs on the stage. Then pair the ones you see with their partners which you cannot see. Relax your eyes if you can, and wait for the dance to begin. The band is already playing my friends,... in the bottom right-hand corner. Cheers! have yourselves a drink,... and try to be marry.
