chart overlap in arcgis desktop...

Have you tried to overlap a 2D pie chart in ArcMap with another layer? Or can we create transparency for the charts so that we can see the underlying data layers? The answer is NO. I tried all kinds of ways including changing the symbology type and color.

Finally, I manage to solve this by setting the selection of features as a specific symbol or colour. Only then the layers can be visible on top of the charts.

Another way is to convert the pie charts into Graphics (as graphic layer) an manipulate fromt there... but this is really messy if there are many features and you have to move or edit them individually.
